OPA-LOCKA - Eight cadets from the Miami Springs Optimist Cadet Squadron took the skies in Opa-Locka, FL on Saturday, 25 February 2012. C/CMSgt Javier Munoz, C/SrA Glenn Camilo, C/SrA Juan Moas, C/Amn Michael Cabrera, C/Amn Fabio Da Rocha, C/Amn Liyah Ruiz, and C/AB Justin Vazquez flew in a Cessna 182 piloted by 1Lt Andrew Alloco. Cadet Ruiz shared her thoughts on her experience, "I felt great! It was very exciting. I learned a lot from it."

The cadets went up two at a time, taking turns as co-pilot to 1Lt Alloco. Each flight would take off from Opa-Locka Airport and land at Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport, where the cadets would switch off before flying back to Opa-Locka.

Congratulations to Cadets Ruiz, Camilo, Vazquez and Cabrera on completing their first Orientation Flights!
